In a 3-2 vote Thursday evening, the Wimberley City Council defeated a proposal to place an illuminated informational sign on RM12 at the entrance to the Wimberley Community Center.
The sign, which would have been paid for by Pedernales Electric Cooperative, was proposed to replace PEC’s over the road banner program which is being discontinued at the end of December. The proposed sign would have been used to promote events at the Community Center and for promoting non-profit organizations’ events around town.
City Councilmen Mac McCullough, Steve Thurber and John White voted against the proposed sign.
