This raucous comedy with music is provoked by the bizarre death of Peggy Ingraham, the matriarch of a dysfunctional, working-class Texas family. Peggy’s daughter Latrelle is relieved that her cross-dresser sibling, Brother Boy – a dedicated Tammy Wynette impersonator – is confined to a mental institution. Latrelles’ sister LaVonda argues that Brother Boy should be released to attend the funeral. Latrelle’s actor son Ty realizes he can’t return for the funeral without coming out to his mother. Meanwhile, the sisters argue about burying their mother in her beloved fox fur, when it’s just so hot outside. A tale of larger-than-life comedic characters with touching humanity.
For mature audiences, contains strong language and adult situations.
