The Wimberley Chamber of Commerce has awarded a Business of the Year every year since 2002.  The nominees for Business of the Year 2011 are as follows:

Indigo Cactus-Beverly Pearman made the outside of the business look better than it ever has. She has the best taste in fashion and carries enough lower-priced items that make it affordable and fun for Wimberley locals to shop. Her eye for fashion and ability to engage the customer with suggestions and the perfect item has made her business a success.

Wimberley Café-I know of no business in Wimberley that does more for the community than the Wimberley Cafe. Owner Robin McCullough selflessly opens her establishment for local charities and fundraising events as well as to special events that bring the community together. She has created a friendly, inviting atmosphere for residents and visitors alike, and the Cafe’s courteous staff is knowledgeable of local businesses and attractions and eagerly provides directions and other information. Robin views new eating establishments not as competitors but as being good for the community, and she counsels those opening new restaurants on doing business in Wimberley–advice that they find invaluable. Robin McCullough truly demonstrates true community spirit, and the Wimberley Cafe represents the finest of Wimberley’s friendly reputation. With 28 employees, Robin is one of the largest employers in Wimberley.

Businesses must be nominated by another business member whose membership is current. Members are not allowed to nominate themselves. (non-profit memberships are not eligible to win) The membership will vote for Business of the Year at the January 18 luncheon. If your business has
been nominated, please plan to attend the luncheon. RSVP is required by January 16 at 4:00 pm. The same business may be nominated several times but is not eligible to win if they have won Business of the Year within the past 10 years.
