Wimberley Community Budget Forum Scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 2

Posted By on July 28, 2011

On Tuesday, August 2, 2011, Wimberley residents will have an opportunity to voice their thoughts and ideas on the City’s 2012 budget at a community budget forum scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Wimberley City Hall located at 221 Stillwater in Wimberley, Texas.

The purpose of the forum is to provide residents with an opportunity to influence the drafting of the 2012 City budget through open and transparent dialogue between City government and the community. The Wimberley City Council and the Wimberley Budget Advisory Board are co-hosting this first ever budget forum.

Those wanting to ask questions or voice their concerns on that date can do so in person or by submitting their comments or questions in advance via email to dferguson@cityofwimberley.com.

“We are looking for more ways for citizens to participate in the budget process by holding the forum,” said Mayor Bob Flocke. “It’s a great opportunity for citizens and members of their government to work together in developing a strong partnership as we begin preparing the 2012 Budget.

The meeting will include a brief PowerPoint presentation about the City budget in general followed by an interactive discussion with the citizens, City Council and Budget Advisory Board.

“The budget forum is an action step by the City designed to help build relationships between government and citizens, and increase opportunities for citizen input,” said Flocke. “We know citizens expect effective, efficient and accountable government.”
