The city council approved a Parks and Recreation Board proposal to extend Blue Hole’s swimming season for 2011 until Oct. 16.
The park had been scheduled to close to swimmers after the Labor Day weekend. The park will be open on weekends only from Sept. 6 through Oct. 16. Hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sundays. In addition to the new weekend hours during the fall, the park will continue to be available by reservation year round for special events.
