The Wimberley Ministerial Alliance (WMA) is sponsoring Neighbors Helping Neighbors 2010 on Saturday, August 28 to encourage our community to shop local and at the same time support the Operation Good Shepherd Financial Assistance Fund. The fund administered and supported by many Wimberley congregations assists residents in the Wimberley ISD boundaries with rent, utilities, medical, and transportation needs. The fund is currently overseen by the Barnabas Connection of the Wimberley United Methodist Church. The WMA is asking local businesses to commit to sharing a percentage of sales from the day with Operation Good Shepherd. The business chooses the percentage they are willing to donate. The WMA will provide posters, flyers, and free advertising promoting the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” event and the participating local businesses asking everyone to shop local on Saturday, August 28.
